Brazilian Embassy Action in The Hague
Greenpeace activists replace the Brazilian flag outside their embassy in The Hague with a flag reading "Desmatamento En Retrocesso" (Deforestation and Degeneration) instead of "Ordem e Progresso" (order and progress), ahead of President Dilma Rousseff decision on whether or not to veto a controversial new Forest Code for the country. If passed into law, the new Code will drastically reduce forest protection and drive up deforestation.
Greenpeace is calling on the Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff to veto changes in the forest laws.
