Blockade of Japanese Whaling Ship in Tasman Sea
Greenpeace protesters from MV GONDWANA jumped into the Tasman Sea from helicopters to block the path of whaling factory ship NISSHIN MARU NO 3 on her way to rendezvous with the rest of the Japanese whaling fleet in the Southern Ocean. At a later encounter with the whole fleet whaling was completely abandoned for several days until the Greenpeace ship left. (Greenpeace Witness book page 121) (Greenpeace Changing the World page 57)
