Cancer Victim in Shaoxing
Wang Meifang (58 years old) is from Xinsunrui village in Shaoxing, an area severely affected by water pollution. While many other families moved away, Wang's family stayed. She has been diagnosed with breast cancer, the exact causes are unknown. In February 2013, the Chinese government acknowledged for the first time the existence of 'cancer villages' linked to pollution from hazardous chemicals.
