Arctic Council Activities in Sweden
The Arctic Council, an international forum set up to ensure the health and sustainability of the Arctic region, meets in Kiruna, Sweden. As foreign ministers and delegates from the Arctic states arrive in Kiruna they are greeted by Greenpeace members bearing the message to stop oil exploration in the Arctic. First along the road towards the city with banners and advertising boards, and then at the hotel where they are staying they are reminded again with stickers, paintings, signs and magazine articles.
