Since acquisition by Greenpeace in 2000, the Esperanza (Spanish for 'Hope') conducted operations all over the world on whaling, nuclear transport, illegal fishing, illegal logging, scientific research and climate and energy. Until retirement in late 2021, the ship launched solar-powered aircraft, helicopters and submarines - and a wide range of environmental actions. Even after retirement, the light of Esperanza will forever be in our hearts.
