BNP Paribas, the world’s leading banker of nuclear projects, is planning to provide financing for the construction of a nuclear power station – Angra 3 – in Brazil.
If this financing goes ahead, Brazil will be burdened with a nuclear reactor using materials that are out-of-date and that will fail to deliver the safe, affordable, clean energy Brazil needs in a world faced with climate change.
Greenpeace is calling on BNP to announce its immediate withdrawal from Angra 3 and allow full transparency on its radioactive investments.
