A banner reading: ’'GIFTMÜLLEXPORT STOPPEN! - DIOXINSCHLEUDER SCHLIESSEN!' translated in English: 'STOP WASTE TRADE! - SHUT DOWN THE DIOXIN SLING!' flutter over the ground of Refonda AG at Niederglatt near Zurich – a subsidiary of Alusuisse.
A study, carried out by order of Greenpeace, revealed high concentrations of dioxin and other highly toxic agents. Refonda exports aluminium slag for 'recycling' but the waste contains high concentrations of dioxins which cannot be recycled.
Greenpeace requests that the authorities finally cast their eyes and demand the shut-down of the company. Furthermore Greenpeace asks for a total ban of waste trades.
