Collection: Reverse Graffiti Action: No More Nukes in Korea (Photos and Video)

Greenpeace activists use a high pressure cold water cleaner to create “Reverse Graffiti” on the streets of Busan, Korea. There are four different types of a graffiti message. The wordings are all playful parodies of widely used word-plays in Korean. Added with the pictorial symbols, the messages say, “New Nuclear Plants are just too much, Fukushima-Chernobyl-Busan, Nuclear is a disease and the only cure is your vote, Tell them to stop the nuclear winds”. The graffiti action aims to create a playful and direct dialogue with the citizens of Busan. As the general election is coming in April, through this action, Greenpeace intend to inform what the Busan citizens can do as a voter.

The Korean government is planning to build two additional reactors at the Kori Nuclear Power Complex, the world’s largest nuclear power plants site, located between Busan and Ulsan. The plant already has seven reactors and there are around 3.4 million people living within the 30km zone around the plant.
