On Africa Day Greenpeace Africa joined other NGO's e.g Rosa Luxemburg Foundation, Action solidaire internationale (350.org partner in Senegal) to support a Forum and a protest organised by local communities affected by the construction of a coal plant, in Sendou and Bargny, two fishing villages located 35 km away from Dakar.

Another action on the same day was also organised in South Africa to "Break Free from Coal".
