Berlin, June 4, 2010: Together with other opponents of nuclear power, Greenpeace protests against the plans of chancellor Angela Merkel (CDU), the ministers in charge and the prime ministers of the CDU/CSU-led federal states to prolong the operating times of Nuclear Power Plants (NPP).
A Greenpeace banner reads: "Stoppt die atomradikale Bundesregierung! - Greenpeace“ (Stop the nuclear-radical government!“), signs from other protesters naming German NPPs read: „Unterweser – Schöne Grüße vom tödlichen Nachbarn“ (Unterweser - Greetings from your deadly neighbour) and „Brokdorf – schöne Grüße vom tödlichen Nachbarn“ (Brokdorf – Greetings from your deadly neighbour). Demonstrators hold up flags with German Anti-Nuclear-Power Icon „Atomkraft – Nein Danke“ (Nuclear Power? No Thanks). Yellow painted barrels with a skull symbolising nuclear waste barrels serve as percussion drums.
