The Paris Administrative Court has ruled in favour of the Affaire du Siècle: successive governments are now obliged to prove themselves and strictly respect France's climate commitments. The French state is also ordered to repair the environmental damage caused by its inaction before 31 December 2022. This unprecedented ruling obliges the current government, but also the future tenant of the Elysée Palace. This decision marks a new era for France's climate policies: no President will be able to avoid acting on climate issues or risk outlawing the State.

Supporters of the Affaire du Siècle came to the Trocadero square in Paris to display two messages in giant letters: "Climate: justice is with us!" and "Candidates: no climate, no mandate".

Climat : le(s) prochain(s) quinquennats sous la contrainte judiciaire. 
Le tribunal administratif de Paris a donné raison à l’Affaire du Siècle : les gouvernements successifs sont désormais obligés de faire leurs preuves et de respecter strictement les engagements climatiques de la France. L’Etat français est également sommé de réparer les dommages à l’environnement causés par son inaction, avant le 31 décembre 2022. Ce jugement inédit oblige le gouvernement actuel, mais aussi le ou la futur·e locataire de l’Élysée. Cette décision marque une nouvelle ère pour les politiques climatiques de la France : plus aucun.e Président.e ne pourra s'exonérer d'agir pour le climat sous peine de mettre l'Etat hors la loi.

C’est dans cette perspective que l’Affaire du Siècle s’est déplacée sur le parvis du Trocadéro à Paris ce matin, pour déployer deux messages en lettres géantes : « Climat : la justice est avec nous ! » et « Candidat·es : pas de climat, pas de mandat ».
