Shoot: 'Detox Football' Protest against Adidas in Russia

GP0STOERD
Greenpeace activists protest near the Adidas store in downtown St. Petersburg. Activists are protesting around the world, to remind Adidas of its environmental responsibility to clean up the production of World Cup 2014 merchandise. Adidas, the official sponsor of the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, has introduced jerseys, gloves, shoes and other products that contain a variety of toxic and hazardous substances. According to a Greenpeace study the contaminants perfluorinated chemicals (PFC) and solvents like dimethylformamid (DMF) have been detected in the merchandise. Greenpeace is asking Adidas to implement its existing commitments to immediately eliminate the use of these toxic and hazardous substances.
