Shoot: Forests Log Export Action in Prince Rupert
GP02ARH
Greenpeace protests the export of raw logs from B.C's forests with a banner, "LOG EXPORTS = JOB EXPORT". Approximately 9,000m (cubed) of raw logs are being housed onto the Ocean Orchid to be shipped to Japan for processing. Meanwhile, clearcutting of forests in the province continues unabated. Greenpeace is calling for an end to the clearcutting and the expansion of value-added processing in B.C.'s forest industry. Prince Rupert was the first stop in the No Fish No Forests No Future tour of Canada's West Coast.
