Shoot: Sun Celebration at School in Poland

GP0STQ5GN
In 2014 seven schools located in Gubin and Brody communes, in Lubusz Voivodeship, Poland, received solar power systems from Greenpeace.
Thanks to recent amendment to the RES (renewable energy sources) bill, public entities can become prosumers (both producers and consumers) of energy from renewable sources, and schools in Bieżyce, Chlebowo, Czarnowice, Grabice, Starosiedle, Strzegów, and Brody are among the first public buildings in Poland to have taken this opportunity.
On September 2016 all solar power systems installed on the schools’ rooftops were connected to the grid. It is estimated that each school during the first year may save between 1700 and 4300 of Polish złoty on electricity bills.
For this occasion more than 500 school kids got together in the courtyard of a school in Brody to form a sun next to a banner reading "Our schools shine the sun".
