Shoot: Activists Block Entrance to RWE Coal Plant in Eemshaven
GP0STQBS7
Greenpeace activists block the coal ship ‘Paquis’ from entering the Eemshaven. The ship arrives to unload coal from Russia for the largest coal-fired power plant in the Netherlands. Joris Thijssen, director of Greenpeace Netherlands is one of the climbers hanging from the rope. The photos he made show an unusual perpective of the action. The rope is streched above the water between two wind turbines on either side of the harbour. Greenpeace calls on Dutch politicians to close all coal-fired power plants in the Netherlands without delay and fully embrace wind energy.
