Shoot: Save the Kurgalsky Reserve (Web video)

GP0STQSYL
The Kurgalsky reserve is one of the most valuable natural territories in the north-west of Russia. It is home for rare plants and animals like the Baltic ringed seal and the garden dormouse. Last year a nest of a white-tailed eagle was found here - the rarest predatory bird in this strip.

There is a plan to build the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline through the Kurgalsky reserve. According to the project, it is necessary to cut down the forest on a strip 85 m wide and about 3.7 km long. In addition, the authors of the calculations confirm that the gas pipeline will pass through the sites of old-growth indigenous forests and a unique relict dune, the impact on which will be irreversible.
