Shoot: Paper Penguins Exhibition for the Protection of the Weddell Sea
GP0STSL3Z
Around 2500 penguins made of paper visit the exhibition at Greenpeace Germany in Hamburg. They are part of this year's Children's Action to Protect the Antarctic. From April 2018 to the end of September 2018, children could work with Greenpeace to protect the Antarctic. Those who wanted to, could order the action mail, with crafting instructions for the penguin, information and signature lists. Over 2000 children have actively participated. So more than 27,000 signatures have come about solely through their commitment. These signatures are part of the approximately 385,000 signatures from Germany and more than 2 million supporters worldwide, all of whom together call for the protection of the Antarctic. At the end of October, the Antarctic Commission CCAMLR in Hobart, Australia decides whether the area will be protected from industrial exploitation.
