Shoot: Climate Action Eneco Billboards in the Netherlands
GP01JRN
Eighteen Greenpeace activists adjust the texts of the publicity campaign of the electricity supplier Eneco. On billboards in Amsterdam, Utrecht, Den Haag and Leiden the activists add speech bubbles to the Eneco advertising 'Iets wat ingewikkeld is kun je toch helder uitleggen' with the text 'Onze kolencentrales stoten CO2 uit en dat veroorzaakt klimaatverandering'. The texts translate to English as 'Something what is complicated can be explained clearly' with the Greenpeace balloon 'Our coal-fired power plants emit CO2 and that causes climate change'. Because the Eneco advertising consists of different text versions, Greenpeace also adds different speech bubbles. With this protest Greenpeace wants to make clear that Eneco must not only bring comfort to the consumer, but especially green energy. Greenpeace urges Eneco not to invest anymore in polluting coal-fired power plants, but in green energy to save the climate.
