Twenty Greenpeace activists dressed as bears, mice, frogs, ducks and rabbits are protesting in front of the secretariat of the Swiss People's Party (SVP) in Zurich.
They demonstrate against the Avanti Initiave, a new road construction project which will lead to an increase in CO2 emissions, and against the SVP leadership in the current traffic politics. The project would counteract the targets for climate protection in Switzerland. The Avanti initiative and climate change will destroy many of the animals' homes.
Therefore the "animals" are asking for climate change protection instead of streets. Otherwise the SVP should organize their emigration and asylum in a foreign host country. The SVP is playing an important role in the Avanti initiative and is therefore letting Swiss climate protection fall to pieces.
The elections of February 8th are all about a right wing SVP asphalt desire.
This would open the channels for additional Swiss CO2 emissions.
