Mexico has the 5th place in the world for its deforestation, with 500,000 of acres of forest disappearing every year. In fact, 50 percent of the pristine forests in Mexico have disappeared.
The intensive cattle farming is the main reason for the deforestation in Los Tuxtlas, in the Mexican state of Veracruz. More than 91 percent of the forests in the state of Veracruz have disappeared.
