Shoot: Toxics Action at Chemical Landfills in Bonfol and Monthey Switzerland

GP01TV4
About fifty Greenpeace activists have begun to reveal sites contaminated with chemical waste from Novartis and Ciba in Monthey. With barriers and hundreds of warning signs on the contaminated sites in and around the factory premises, Greenpeace draws attention to the chemical time bombs in the ground. The drinking water wells 'Grandes îles d'Amont von Ollon' is located near the toxic sites, and showed contamination by chlorinated pollutants in 1989. Whether anything was done to protect the drinking water from this alarming contamination is unknown.
The activists reveal eight chemical landfills on and around the premises of Novartis and Ciba in Monthey today. They leave six black chemical waste barrels behind on the chemical landfills in Monthey, which represent the call for an immediate clean up of the toxic landfills.
