Shoot: Toxics Action Waste Barrel Returned to Roche

GP01U2E
Greenpeace activists have, supported by the Bonfol Collective (collective for the immediate clean up of the hazardous toxic landfill Bonfol, in which more than 40 organizations have joined forces), returned “Barrel nr 6” with contaminated water from leaking toxic dump site in Jura, to its legal owner.
With a banner that highlights the need for the immediate clean up of the hazardous landfill, Greenpeace protests against the chemical industry of Basel (the companies Novartis, Roche, Clariant and Ciba). “Barrel nr 6” was handed over to the Director of Clariant at his home. The health of the population in Bonfol situated directly next to the landfill, is threatened by the leaking of polluted water, and there is no reason why chemistry managers can live quiet and undisturbed while they, with their toxic waste, influence the quality of life of thousands of people. After returning this barrel the activists went on to the factory of chemical group Roche in Village-Neuf (France) to hand over “Barrel nr 7”.
